This month we’re focusing on Discouragement – or to put it in a positive light – how to be encouraged.
God speaks to us in the Bible over and over again about how to press forward, to keep going, and most of all to depend on Him. God is our rock, our hope and our salvation – He will never leave you nor forsake you. So, trust in Him, read His word and draw Him ever closer to you through prayer.
Psalm 27:14 (NIV) Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 34:4-8 (NIV) I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troublesl The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34: 17-19 (NIV) The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Psalm 55:22 (NIV) Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
John 14:1 (NIV) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
John 16:33 (NIV) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
God Bless You!
