May 2009 Edition
Jesus’ disciples wanted to know how they should pray and so in Matthew Chapter 6 verses 9-13, (New International Version), Jesus gave us these beautiful words, which today is often called the Lord’s Prayer.
Jesus said, “This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
As we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”
Jesus went on to say in Matthew Chapter 6 verses 14 and 15: “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Before Jesus spoke the Lord’s prayer he said “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
Go to the Lord in prayer, talk to Him all throughout your day and thank Him for providing for all of your needs.
God Bless You!
